Energy front of Ukraine. Three months of the war

  Ukraine is going through the war for three months now, and the business continues to work and repair the damaged infrastructure and provide people with the necessary services. What is happening in the gas and energy sectors – learn the updates in the week of May 16-22. Oil and gas sector Active hostilities in the service area of JSC Donetskoblgaz do not weaken. The companys specialists continue to repair damaged networks where possible. As a result, employees were forced to disconnect 12 settlements, 1 GDS, 3958 houses and 6123 apartments due to damage caused to the networks during the week. Meanwhile, thanks to the heroic efforts of repairmen, the gas supply was restored to 215 private houses and 48 apartments. Consumers of Naftogaz Trading LLC increased the use of natural gas by 7.9% in a week. The company continues to operate on a full-time basis. All digital services of Naftogaz Ukraine are fully accessible. The contact center accepts calls from all over Ukraine around the clock. More than 11,000 calls were processed during the week. The company occasionally reminds its customers that it is more important than ever to pay gas bills. NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine has published consolidated financial statements for 2021. According to it, the companys net profit amounted to UAH 12 billion. Also, a new biogas power plant was built and put into operation as a part of the Naftogaz of Ukraine and the Clear Energy Group project. The station started operating at the landfill for solid waste in the Lviv region. It will give more than 800 thousand cubic meters of gas per year. Despite missile strikes and air alarms in the Lviv region, the New Rozdol and Novoyavorivsk CHPs are operating normally. Employees of thermal power plants are preparing equipment for the heating season. The works are being carried out in accordance with the approved plans. Ukrtransgaz underground storage facilities remain under high security and continue to operate normally. JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannya continues to produce gas at all its facilities, except for those near the line of contact. JSC Ukrtransnafta and JSC Ukrspetstransgaz continue to work as usual under martial law. OJSC Kirovogradgaz operates as usual. Electricity During the week, DTEK Grids emergency crews restored light to more than 62,000 homes in Kyiv, Donetsk, Odesa, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Besides, work has been completed to restore light in the Kyiv region. On May 18, the last line feeding the city of Irpin was put into operation. Electricity, high-voltage, and distribution networks owned by the company supply 260,000 households in almost 600 settlements. This is critical to restoring normal life in the area. Power engineers made every effort to ensure that the work was completed in 45 days, instead of 60, as previously announced. These works are only the first stage in returning light to all residents of the region as soon as possible. The second stage is ahead and it includes the restoration of backup power supplies and the reconstruction of existing power schemes. Those residents of the region who still do not have electricity can be connected to grids owned by developers, management companies, housing and maintenance offices, other individuals, and legal entities. Despite active hostilities, DTEKs energy sector continues to restore light in the Donetsk region with the permission of the Armed Forces. In a week, the power supply was returned to 58,107 households in 73 settlements in the Donetsk region. In some settlements, due to regular shelling of the energy sector, grids had to be repaired five or more times. Also during the week, DTEKs emergency crews returned light to more than 2,000 families in the Odesa region and almost 600 families in the Dnipropetrovsk region who were left without electricity due to the shelling. DTEK understands the importance of restoring railway facilities for the whole country. Therefore, our specialists and special equipment continue to assist in the repair of the Ukrzaliznytsia infrastructure to restore the normal functioning of the railway and the supply of light to the surrounding settlements as soon as possible. Natural gas market Regional Gas Company. As of May 23, 2022, 161,428 consumers remain without a gas supply. In Ivano-Frankivsk, the construction of the RGC Metrological Center continues. With the use of cutting-edge equipment from Innotech Meter Calibration Systems GmbH, the meter will be calibrated fully automatically, without human intervention. Within a week, Kharkivmiskgaz specialists restored gas distribution to 3,000 households in all districts of the Kharkiv city. The gasmen were able to reach the mined areas. Repair and restoration works took place on gas pipelines damaged by enemy shelling. Gas launching works are underway in the Sunny and Forest Park neighborhoods. Gas distribution is being restored in the village of Elitne, Vilkhiv community, which has experienced the horrors of the occupation. Kharkiv gas companies resumed gas distribution in Dergachi and Malaya Danylivka. These settlements were under constant fire from the occupiers. Repair and restoration works are underway in seven villages in Zolochiv. During the last week, after the repair of the high-pressure gas pipeline in the Kharkiv district, the specialists of Kharkivgaz JSC restored the gas distribution of up to 30,000 houses. RGC Productions modern products have been operating on gas networks for three years. The modern RGC Production is installed in the Volyn region. Three years ago, the regional gas company decided to replace completely Soviet and Russian technologies in gas distribution. RGC has consistently worked to expand contacts with European and North American companies. This strategy has paid off now that Ukraine is counting on an accelerated procedure for accession to the European Union. In the Kyiv region, the city of Irpin, which was badly damaged during the russian occupation, will be completely restored to gas distribution. Since the beginning of April, gas companies restored gas distribution to more than 40,000 households. In total, gas distribution has been restored in 120 Kyiv region settlements for almost 150,000 households. Unfortunately, the russian occupiers left behind a lot of destruction. JSC Kyivoblgaz fills in the register of destroyed objects. Today it has 4,000 private households, 3,000 apartments, and 100 businesses. During the week, the revised register will be sent to district and community leaders. JSC Kyivoblgaz also launches gas for those who return home. After submitting an emergency report, gas companies conduct inspections, carry out repair work where necessary, and turn on the gas. Gas latch, crushed by a tank, gas pipeline destroyed by an air bomb. This is the current state of many facilities in the Chernihiv region. Specialists of JSC Chernihivgaz repaired a valve with a diameter of 200 mm, which was destroyed in the well after the tank hit. After the de-occupation, repair work was carried out and now 2,000 apartments in Chernihiv have stable gas distribution. The gas company diagnosed the networks and replaced a five-meter section of the gas pipeline destroyed by an air bomb in Novoselivka. After the repair of inlets and house systems, the distribution of gas to 120 houses was restored where it is possible given the scale of the destruction.
