Business welcomes the update of Ukraine’s National Programme for the Development of the Mineral Resource Base

19/ 12/ 2024
On 18 December, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in its second reading draft Law No. 6227 on amendments to the National Programme for the Development of the Mineral Resource Base of Ukraine until 2030. The approval of the updated National Programme for the Development of the Mineral Resource Base of Ukraine is a vital prerequisite for leveraging the country’s mineral resource potential to ensure sustainable and efficient national economic development. It also fulfils a key condition for financing under the Ukraine Facility Plan. Industry representatives are confident that the adoption of this document will foster the development of strategic partnerships in the field of critical raw materials, strengthen supply chains within the sector, facilitate integration into the EU common market, and unlock new opportunities for attracting investments and advancing the industry. We extend our gratitude to the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management for their active efforts in promoting sector development and considering the proposals of the business community. The European Business Association remains committed to supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening the sector’s position in the international market and improving the regulatory environment.
