Natalia Hutarevych joins Ukraine’s EU Accession Negotiation Process

  Natalia Hutarevych, Senior Associate at Sayenko Kharenko and Head of the Committee on Natural Resources, Environmental and Ecology Law at the Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA), has been appointed to the government’s negotiation group on environment, climate change and civil protection for Ukraine’s EU accession process. As an environmental law expert, Natalia will participate in developing Ukraine’s negotiating positions in environmental protection and climate policy – crucial for Ukrainian state regulatory and businesses’ transformation to meet European requirements. “Environmental issues and climate policy are key elements in the EU negotiations. Ukrainian businesses needs a clear understanding of European standards. Expert participation in negotiation groups will help ensure a balanced approach to implementing European regulations,” comments Natalia Hutarevych. The working groups, established under the government decree of 27 August 2024, bring together representatives from government bodies, business associations, and the expert community to develop balanced positions for Ukraine’s EU accession negotiations.
