In 1999, CRH entered the Ukrainian market by acquiring the Kamyanets-Podilsky cement plant in the Khmelnytsky region. More than € 300 million has been invested in the modernization of the plant and the transition to a more environmentally friendly dry cement production method. After the Odesa cement plant (2011) and Mykolayivcement, Lviv region (2013) joined CRH, the company became one of the leaders in the Ukrainian cement market. Since the autumn of 2021, cement plants operate under a new brand – CEMARK.
A separate line of CRH’s business in Ukraine is the production of ready-mixed and reinforced concrete. Bilotserkivskyi Plant of Reinforced Concrete Structures ‘PoliBeton Energo’ is a specialised plant that produces poles for power transmission lines. PoliBeton’s RMC facility in northern Odesa joined CRH in 2020.
