Kimberly-Clark’s Consumer Business in Central Europe Grows by 180% in Almost a Decade, As Part of Regional Hub Managed from Ukraine

10/ 06/ 2022
During the last 8 years, the company’s consumer business in Central Europe has increased by almost 180%, providing essential health and personal hygiene products to millions of consumers across the region. Even during the Russian-Ukrainian war, the team continues to provide access to Huggies®, Kotex®, Kleenex®, and Depend® products for Central European consumers and Ukrainian refugees. KYIV, UKRAINE, June 10, 2022 – Kimberly-Clark Ukraine is the head office for Central European countries, managing supply, logistics, marketing, legal, finance and sales operations. The team is currently successfully developing business in the Baltic States (Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia), Poland, Romania, Moldova, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, North Macedonia, and Croatia. “Using the Ukrainian office as a regional hub, Kimberly-Clark successfully expanded its business to other Central European markets over the years. Our Ukraine team managed to apply best practices from Ukraine and replicate similar successes – this includes making Huggies® one of the leading diaper brands* across many markets. This speaks to the skills and leadership of our local team, as well as our dedication to our consumers and providing them with the essential products they need, said Andriy Valushko, Commercial Director at Kimberly-Clark in Central Europe. The most up-to-date statistics also show dynamic growth rates of brand sales in Central Europe for the first quarter of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, with double-digit growth for both Huggies® and Kotex® brands. “Over the years, the communication and operational processes within the Kimberly-Clark team in Ukraine and Central Europe have improved to an extremely high level and enable us to cope with any challenge. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we completely switched to working remotely and learned to function effectively in this format. During the war, such coordination of the team in many respects allowed us, as the regional hub, to resume support for business activities in Central European markets in just a week. We are proud to be able to continue providing for our consumers despite current challenges, Valyushko added. The Kimberly-Clark team in Ukraine and Central Europe continues its business operations and provides access to essential goods for as many individuals as possible. * In 2021, Huggies® was among the top two baby diaper brands in the Baltic States, and in Estonia, it became the number one in its niche.
