Module 1. Intercultural communication. What you need to know about yourself and others to communicate confidently in a global environment — 08.09.2026     Knowing a foreign language does not guarantee barrier‑free communication with colleagues, clients, partners, or friends from other countries. We may speak the same language and still face misunderstandings because we have individual “default settings” that shape our communication style, our ideas of what a “good/useful” meeting is, our expectations, ways of conveying and receiving information, and interpretations of the same situations.  We know we are all different. In this  module, we will talk about how we differ and how to find common ground, as well as how to develop flexibility to interact confidently and effectively in international environments.  Module 2. International negotiations and presentations — 10.09.2026      Our proposals may offer “the best prices” and top quality, include strong technical expertise and still be rejected. Our business presentations may be “perfectly” prepared yet fail to succeed. Often, the issue is not the content itself but the way it is delivered and the cultural specifics of negotiation styles.  In this module we:  discuss building trusting business relationships.  explore how different cultures perceive arguments, structure, directness, emotionality, and communication pace.   reflect on why the same presentation may sound convincing to some and “unfinished” or overly aggressive to others.   We also practice adapting messages and negotiation strategies to make the most of international collaboration.  Module 3. Working in cross‑cultural and multicultural (project) teams — 15.09.2026      Many of us work in cross‑cultural and multicultural teams. Cultural diversity can bring significant advantages: synergy, enhanced creativity, improved decision‑making, and greater ability to handle complex tasks.  But it also creates challenges: different expectations regarding communication styles, role distribution, work pace, decision‑making approaches, time use and deadlines, feedback practices, and conflict resolution.  In this module, we discuss:  what makes a multicultural team effective.  how to build trust.  align expectations.  set boundaries.  define roles and responsibilities.  coordinate efforts, and make decisions.  Module 4. Communication in cross‑cultural and multicultural (project) teams — 17.09.2026       Our communication within a team is culturally shaped. In some cultures, directness is valued as honesty and openness; in others, it may be perceived as disrespect, aggression, or lack of manners.  This module is about:  how to run meetings.  provide feedback.  avoid communication escalation.  encourage open dialogue and reflect on whether it is possible to create shared communication rules that “work” for everyone.  Materials that will be provided to participants: presentations, materials from the project When you collaborate with...., you should know that..., recordings of modules with access for 3 months.
