Business supports the initiative to cancel mobilization tasks for reserving employees

21/ 09/ 2022
Yesterday, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in the first reading as a basis draft law No. 7687 on the procedure of reserving conscripts who are not subject to conscription for military service during mobilization. At the same time, the draft law provides for the cancellation of the mobilization task for reservation. Thus, it will be possible for a business to make a reservation without a mobilization task if: this is a company, institution, or organization that is critically important for the functioning of the economy and ensuring the livelihood of the population in wartime. The criteria for the classification as the critical business will be established by the CMU Order; this is a company, institution, or organization that produces goods, performs work, and provides defense services to meet the needs of the army. The European Business Association welcomes this draft law and calls on the MPs to adopt the draft law as a whole promptly, because, as the community has repeatedly emphasized, the issue of reservations is extremely important for the continuation of business and the economy in general. And since the existence of mobilization tasks showed their inefficiency and since May, the reservation procedure actually stopped, one of the proposals of the business was the cancellation of mobilization tasks. So the EBA community appreciates that our opinion was considered! At the same time, we hope for the acceleration of developing and adopting all necessary by-laws to update the reservation procedure.
