Meeting of Regional Active Business with the New Head of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration

    Last week, the EBA Western Ukrainian Office Regional Coordination Council held the meeting with Denys Shmyhal, new Head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, and representatives of regional business. Maryana Lutsyshyn. Head of the EBA Western Ukrainian Office. We understand that the western region is not only Lviv region. And we continue to explore it, looking for unique business projects with the same values as we have. Thus, as part of regional development priority, representatives of the Association together with Ukraine Invest met with Denys Shmyhal, visited local companies Kuvert and Dolyna - Agro, and also united over 40 representatives of Frankivsk region active businesses at Promprylad for open communication with new head of the region.  Key points to remember from meetings and talks:  Business in Frankivsk region is active and different. They are some large companies already operating in the region – Goodvalley, Leoni, Iris Group, Karpatsmoly, Nordkalk and more. There are also many other businesses in the field of woodworking, tourism, IT etc. When it comes to business in the region, especially small and medium-sized ones, they possess one good feature – ability to unite around a common purpose. Examples of such projects are Urban Space, Promprylad.Renovation.  Another example is Kalush Investment Forum that took place on September 10, 2019. Business representatives of that area were extremely active and united in voicing the problematic aspects of the region.  The region has considerable potential. According to Denys Shmyhal, only old infrastructure and network connection speed reduce the Doing Business ranking. The authorities will work with these challenges by implementing the Roads and Bridges program. There is also the desire of state administrationto form 60 active united territorial communities as soon as possible so that community’s representatives can independently determine the priorities for budget expenditures and implement programs for the development of their UTCs.  Forestry, infrastructure, agriculture projects, especially berry growing, recreational businesses and tourism may be of interest to potential investors. . Head of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration. The potential of the Ivano-Frankivsk region for a foreign investor is extremely large. It allows to create and develop business in different social economic spheres. At the same time, a comfortable investment climate is ensured for doing business – there is governmental support at all levels, simplified system of business registration and taxation. 3) Among the priorities of the Head of the Regional State Administration, in addition to road repair, need for aviation,work in the direction of forest digitization (so-called forest management), there were also mentioned further development of tourism, infrastructure, education and medicine, especially construction of the perinatal center.   Therefore, we sincerely thank Denys Shmyhal, the Head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, for an open dialogue, a strategic vision for the regions development and willingness to increase the regions potential. We are thankful to the business community for their activity and sincere dialogue!
