Grain and Oilseeds

09/ 06/ 2017
During the visit of the Head of the State Food Security and Consumer Protection Service to People’s Republic of China within the Second Session of the Dialogue between China and Central and East European Countries concerning quality control, inspections and quarantine that took place in Ninbo from 5 to 10 June, the parties finally agreed and signed the texts of sanitary and phytosanitary conditions for exports of the sunflower meal from Ukraine to China. During the last years, the EBA Grain & Oilseed Committee has been actively cooperating with the Ukrainian Government to extend geography and range of Ukrainian grains exports. At the same time, the geography of countries that supply China with agricultural products has been growing.Ukraine became one of the countries that can export such products to China.Today, Ukraine and China signed three interstate protocols that cover import-export operations for corn, barley and soya. Increasing the range of agricultural products for exports from Ukraine is one of key priorities for the industry. Today, China is one of the world’s largest importers of agricultural products. That is why an opportunity to export sunflower meal creates new prospects for development of this industry, increases the investment attractiveness and may lead to higher profits for the state budget. The EBA expresses its gratitude to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the State Food Security and Consumer Protection Service and Chinese partners for this outstanding step towards liberalization of business climate between two states.
