Meeting with Oleg Petrenko, the Head of the National Health Service of Ukraine

    European Business Association held the first meeting with Oleg Petrenko, the Head of the newly established National Health Service of Ukraine - the central executive body that implements public policy in the sphere of the ​​state financial guarantees for the public health service. Participants of the meeting discussed the particularities of the launch of new Service, plans and tasks for the current year, activities of the Service within the framework of the implementation of the health care reform, further task sharing between the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Service. Mr. Petrenko described in detail the on-going process of the Service’s organization overall, provided some examples of a similar reform in the neighboring countries, mentioned the obstacles that the Service could face in its operation and certain restrictions as anticipated in the adopted health care-related reform legislation. EBA members had an opportunity to ask their questions. They’ve assured Mr. Petrenko of their willingness to interact with the Service. We are thankful for the openness and hope for the fruitful cooperation in the future.
