Advocacy successes of the week

25/ 09/ 2020
  The current week has been full not only of business meetings but also of the positive regulatory changes long expected by the EBA community. Thus, we have achieved some important successes in the fields of industrial ecology and healthcare. So, briefly about the main thing: The government has taken the first step towards launching a quota market in Ukraine Yesterday, September 23, the Government adopted three resolutions that are necessary for launching a system for measurement, reporting, and verification of greenhouse gas emissions (MRV), namely: Procedure for measuring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions; Procedure for verification of the operator’s report on greenhouse gas emissions; List of activities subject to measurement, reporting, and verification of greenhouse gas emissions. The full launch of the system of measurement, reporting, and verification of greenhouse gas emissions is the first stage in the implementation of Directive 2003/87/EC establishing a scheme for greenhouse gas emission allowance trading to gradually reduce greenhouse gas emissions by enterprises. The next stage is the development and implementation of the quota market itself. Business welcomes the legalization of online sale of medicines The Verkhovna Rada adopted the draft law №3615-1 on electronic retail trade of medicinal products in the second reading and as a whole, . Such a decision ultimately introduces the world widespread practice of online sales and delivery of medicines into the legal field of Ukraine. According to the business community, the introduction of legal distance trade in medicines on a permanent basis will improve both the physical accessibility of medicines for patients, especially those of low-mobility groups, or for living in rural areas, as well as the financial accessibility by increasing competition in the field of drug retail. We hope that the adopted draft law will establish a balanced and clear rules of the game for pharma e-commerce at the legislative level while ensuring reliable protection of consumers from dangerous and low-quality drugs. We thank the Government and the Parliament for the decisions taken and we expect even more positive changes next week!   Be the first to learn about the latest EBA news with our Telegram-channel – EBAUkraine.

The government has taken the first step towards launching a quota market in Ukraine

Yesterday, September 23, the Government adopted three resolutions that are necessary for launching a system for measurement, reporting, and verification of greenhouse gas emissions (MRV), namely:

  • Procedure for measuring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions;
  • Procedure for verification of the operator’s report on greenhouse gas emissions;
  • List of activities subject to measurement, reporting, and verification of greenhouse gas emissions.

Business welcomes the legalization of online sale of medicines

The Verkhovna Rada adopted the draft law №3615-1 on electronic retail trade of medicinal products in the second reading and as a whole, .

We hope that the adopted draft law will establish a balanced and clear “rules of the game” for pharma e-commerce at the legislative level while ensuring reliable protection of consumers from dangerous and low-quality drugs.

We thank the Government and the Parliament for the decisions taken and we expect even more positive changes next week!
