How to Access EU Support Through the Ukraine Facility: New Free Online Course Launched

  A new online course, “Ukraine Facility: From Opportunity to Action,” is now available on the Zrozumilo! Educational Online Platform. Designed for civil society organizations (CSOs), local self-government authorities (LSGAs), and European integration professionals, the course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the Ukraine Facility instrument, the opportunities it offers, and how stakeholders can engage in its implementation. The Ukraine Facility is one of the European Union’s key instruments for supporting Ukraine’s recovery and preparation for EU membership. The course offers a holistic overview of how the Ukraine Facility works, the opportunities it creates for communities, local authorities, and civil society organizations, and the roles different stakeholders play in its implementation. Throughout the course, participants will explore: the overall framework of the Ukraine Facility, including its structure, operating principles, and role in Ukraine’s recovery process; the Ukraine Plan as the foundation for implementing the Ukraine Facility; decision-making processes, the distribution of responsibilities among public institutions, and mechanisms for oversight, accountability, and reporting. The course also explains what opportunities the Ukraine Facility creates for local governments and civil society organizations, how they can engage in initiatives funded through the instrument, and what role they can play in ensuring public oversight and accountability. The Role of Government Institutions in Implementing the Ukraine Facility Lecture 7. Opportunities for Local Self-Government Authorities Lecture 8. The Role of Civil Society Organizations: Beneficiaries of Support or Agents of Public Oversight? Module IV. Ukraine Facility Opportunities for Local Authorities Lecture 9. Opportunities for Local Self-Government Authorities: Practical Case Studies Lecture 10. Making the Most of the Ukraine Facility at the Local Level: Practical Recommendations Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate worth 0.2 ECTS credits (six academic hours), which may be recognized as self-directed professional learning.
