W2 Conference Kyiv 2020: Results of the Event Dedicated to Creating Successful and Productive Teams
On December 9, Smile-Expo held the first w2 conference Kyiv 2020, dedicated to the formation of corporate wellbeing.
9 experts in various fields made presentations at the online event. They explained why employers need to take care of employees and how a team of healthy and motivated people can achieve results. Speakers shared their practical experience in the development of corporate culture and analyzed tools for increasing business profits by introducing wellness programs.
Participants of the event also had a chance to enjoy interactive communication with experts, activities from information partners and giveaways.

What did the speakers talk about?
Strategic marketer Alina Bazhenova told about the future of the labor market and how technologies will affect it. She analyzed the distinctive features of Generations Y and Z. Speaking about the representatives of Generation Z, the marketer emphasized that they are able to think big and strive for freedom. Comfort is important to them. Therefore, when choosing a job, they look at how the corporate culture is built in the company.
PeopleForce.io Brand Ambassador Mike Prytula shared his knowledge about delegation and talked about all the intricacies of this process. At the beginning, the speaker explained what is micromanagement, clarified why such management style should be avoided, and indicated how delegation tools can help in the process. In addition, Mike discussed the advantages and features of the transfer of authority from management to subordinates.
The importance of internal communications in the company was discussed by IC specialist at Genesis Yanina Volovik. She pointed out the key qualities for internal communications manager to be effective. The speaker also listed the tools that can be used to inform employees about all corporate news. Additionally, she presented a useful case study of building internal communications in Genesis.
Sales Team Manager at Grammarly Olesya Priymak emphasized that people are the central part of the business ecosystem. And therefore, the better the employees feel, the better the company performs. The expert pointed out that in order to improve the atmosphere in the team, managers should regularly organize personal meetings with team members, invest in their training, hold corporate events and pay attention to intangible motivation.
As part of a report on the search for a balance between work and personal life, Senior Business Coach at BogushTime Yulia Boyko named the basic principles of time management and interactively explained to the audience how to effectively manage their time. Among other things, the speaker advised to learn how to visualize tasks, implement both work and personal goals on a daily basis, allocate time for rest and sum up daily results every evening.
Marina Didenko, PhD in Psychology, spoke about burnouts on the workplace, their symptoms and background. She shared her knowledge of how to deal with fatigue, stress and emotional burnout. As a psychologist, Marina recommended things employers should do to maintain employees’ wellbeing.
The report of the mindfulness meditation coach Hlib Khodorovskyi was dedicated to the peculiarities and advantages of the mindfulness practice. According to the expert, meditation helps to put the nervous system into a rest mode and overcome stress. The coach elaborated on how mindfulness practice can improve concentration and increase productivity. In addition, he reviewed the case of implementing mindfulness training program at Deloitte.
Managers at People Advisory Services EY in Ukraine Anton Novakovsky and Yulia Golovko discussed the use of Total Rewards tools on the Ukrainian labor market. They reviewed the key elements of the compensation and rewards system, analyzed most common types of benefits. Separately, experts listed the decisive factors that influenced the salary revision in 2020.
The founder of WoW HR Yulia Grechka spoke about the importance of using parenting support programs. In her speech, the speaker noted that in modern realities, leaders should take care not only of team members, but also of their families. Caring may be manifested in the provision of healthcare for the children of employees, space for nursing mothers, flexible hours, the ability to work from home, etc.
Fitness breaks and giveaways at w2 conference Kyiv 2020
