Risk Management and Crisis Communications: A New Free Online Course

  The “Risks: How to Identify, Manage, and Communicate Them” course is now available on the Zrozumilo! Educational Online Platform. The course focuses on risk management and crisis communications as essential tools for strengthening organizational resilience. Civil society organizations operate in an environment of constant change, uncertainty, and multiple challenges. Financial, operational, security, reputational, and communication risks can significantly affect project implementation and long-term sustainability. That is why the ability to identify risks early, assess their potential impact, and develop effective response measures is a critical component of organizational resilience. This course was created to help civil society professionals take a systematic approach to risk management and respond confidently to crises. During the course, participants will: explore key approaches to risk management; learn how to identify and assess risks; develop strategies for responding to risks; discover how to implement risk monitoring and management practices at both organizational and project levels. Special attention is given to crisis management and crisis communications. Participants will learn how to prepare their organizations for crisis situations, develop a crisis communication plan, craft key messages, and select effective channels for engaging target audiences. The course combines theoretical knowledge, practical case studies, and the experience of East Europe Foundation. Participants will also receive ready-to-use tools, templates, and checklists that will help them apply their new knowledge in everyday work. Seven Steps to Systematic Risk Management Successful completion of the course qualifies participants to receive a certificate worth 0.2 ECTS credits (six academic hours), which can be recognized as self-directed professional learning.
