UGB (Ukrgasbank) has taken the lead in the trade finance market: the bank’s portfolio exceeded UAH 15.6 billion

22/ 04/ 2026
UGB (Ukrgasbank) demonstrated significant growth in its trade finance portfolio in the first quarter of 2026, enabling the bank to become the market leader. While market volumes declined due to a reduction in the portfolio of one of the participating banks, UGB increased its portfolio by UAH 3.5 billion. As of the end of March, the bank’s market share had grown by 2.8%, and the total portfolio exceeded UAH 15.6 billion. Key growth factors: Team synergy and speed: Strong results were achieved through the coordinated efforts of all business units. This enabled the bank to respond quickly to complex client requests and ensure timely decision-making. Cooperation with international institutions (IFC and EBRD): UGB continues to expand its use of guarantees from international financial organizations. This opens up access to global banks for Ukrainian exporters and importers and strengthens their standing on the world stage. Sector expertise and focus: Critical imports, energy, the agricultural sector, and FMCG have become the main drivers of growth. For these sectors, the bank offers customized structured solutions that take into account the specifics of supply chains. The successes of the first quarter lay a solid foundation for further strengthening UGB’s position as a leading bank for businesses operating in international markets.
