EBA Odesa Extended Coordination Council Meeting with participation of Committees Chairmen and Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine Mr. Davide La Cecilia
Relations between Ukraine and Italy have deep roots, especially partnership with Southern Ukrainian region. Ever in 1979 the Agreement on friendly relations between the twin cities of Odesa and Genoa was signed. Since then, cities have been actively welcoming guests and partners, which is becoming more and more relevant in connection with the implementation of the new EU neighborhood policy.
And already on June 11, the EBA Odesa Office pleased the visit of the Italian diplomat, the Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine – Mr Davide La Cecilia. Within the framework of the Extended Coordination Council Meeting, representatives of the member companies were able to communicate with Mr. Ambassador about the possible prospects of cooperation.
“As of January 1, 2018, the volume of direct investments from Italy to the Ukrainian economy amounted to over 330 million dollars, which is 4.3% more than in the previous year. And in the future it is planned to expand investments in the projects of the Odessa region. There are opportunities in different sectors here: agriculture, infrastructure, energy efficiency, IT, etc.” – said Mr. Davide.
In turn, the Manager of the EBA Southern Ukrainian Office Kateryna Morozova along with the Members of the Coordination Council and Chairmen of the Committees, talked about the business climate in the region, lobbying initiatives and attractive spheres for the Italian investor.
