lifecell together with Optiva became finalists of the Excellence Awards TM Forum 2023

12/ 07/ 2023
On July 12, 2023, the partnership case between the mobile operator lifecell and Optiva during the war made it to the shortlist of the prestigious annual Excellence Awards by TM Forum. The lifecell and Optiva partnership was recognized in the category of Excellence in Serving People & Planet for the project Supporting connectivity, the lifeblood of daily life, with expanded protection in dangerous times. Since the beginning of the full-scale war in February 2022, ensuring uninterrupted communication for the citizens of Ukraine and the military became the top priority for lifecell. The operator quickly deployed new disaster recovery centers in safe locations away from the bombing areas in Ukraine and beyond, including the automated subscriber management platform provided by Optiva. The capabilities of the platform allowed lifecell to be prepared for possible disruptions in the main data center and quickly implement national roaming, providing new free services within tight deadlines. This ensured reliable communication for Ukrainians during critical times. The war has revealed unprecedented examples of bravery and inventiveness in each of our employees and partners. In early 2022, the company had to build a new reliable IT infrastructure in weeks, rather than months as usual. Our partner, Optiva, was instrumental in helping us launch our new data centers just before the war. They provided 24/7 remote support, offered unconventional changes, and ultimately, we worked as one team. We believe that in partnership with Optiva, we will implement numerous planned innovations for the digital future after Ukraines victory, commented Alp Ashkatash, Director of Information and Communication Technologies at lifecell. Optiva is proud to collaborate with lifecell Ukraine to support secure communication for families, communities, and emergency services during disasters and war. Our BSS platform provides lifecell with the flexibility, resilience, and high availability necessary for critical telecommunications services. We will continue to provide these essential resources to support lifecell and the people of Ukraine, said Robert Stabile, CEO of Optiva. Since 2007, TM Forum has recognized leading global companies with awards for their revolutionary contributions to the digital transformation of the telecom industry. TM Forum Awards demonstrate prestigious and unbiased expertise, valuable recognition from colleagues, and celebrate the success of key industry players. The winners of this years award will be announced on the first day of the global event DTW23 - Ignite in Copenhagen in September 2023. For more details, please follow the link.
