The EBA begins to support the development of agro education in the country
Yesterday, European Business Association and Sumy National Agrarian University signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to develop and implement practical agricultural education programs jointly.
Ukraine increase its presence in international markets of agricultural products. Agricultural sector plays a key role in the development of the national economy and provides about 40% of foreign exchange earnings.
That is why it is important for business to raise the level of education, because the issue of personnel is quite acute. Entering new markets require introduction of new technologies and new standards. In addition, taken into account the fact that agricultural development is in full swing, the element of private-public partnership - business and education - will help to implement practical knowledge and business innovations into educational programs.
For example, perspectives of livestock development are enormous. The quotas for the sale of poultry products to the EU, the permission to export beef to China, etc. are one of the positive demonstrations of that. Therefore, EBA Animal health care Committee launch, within the framework of this Memorandum, an educational project to train veterinarians. The aim is to disseminate the latest technologies to grow animals without antibiotics, apply the latest treatment protocols, use the latest vaccines, etc.
The program is going to start in November. It will consist of theoretical and practical parts. More than 30 veterinarians will participate in the first wave of training. Speakers will be the representatives of international companies, members of EBA Animal health care Committee, leaders in the field of veterinary medicine, involved in the development and implementation of new animal medicines and protocols for their treatment. Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate issued by the government.
New technologies are actively coming to Ukraine, so, the level of agro education have to be adapted to the market requirements. On behalf of the university, I would like to point out that education is looking for partners who can help it to develop. Our university is business oriented and confident that together we will be able to move forward. The program for veterinarians is a powerful step from the EBA side. Besides, we have received official confirmation from the Ministry of Education of China on the permission to train veterinary specialists together with the Henan Institute of Science and Technology for China needs, which confirms the corresponding qualification of scientific and pedagogical workers of our university.
European Business Association thanks Sumy National Agrarian University for the cooperation and encourages other educational institutions to interact more actively with business to make education more practical in the country.
