EBA thanks business for supporting Ukraine during the war

  It is the 14th day of the war between Russia and Ukraine. The EBA member companies continue to actively support the country during the war – by donating, by purchasing protective equipment, medicines, food for doctors, the army, territorial defense, the civilians, etc. And the EBA sincerely thanks the business for this support and assistance at such a difficult time for Ukraine and will share stories of various companies supporting the country weekly. Since the beginning of the war, the Astarta-Kyiv Agro-industrial Holding has sent more than UAH 25 million to help Ukraine and Ukrainians. Astarta has provided and continues to provide free food (sugar, milk, dairy and meat products) and other necessary resources to the Ukrainian military, territorial defense, hospitals and those in need. Astarta enterprises receive evacuees from the East, North and South of Ukraine. The dormitories and temporary shelters have been set up in various parts of Ukraine. The following companies provided financial assistance to Ukraine : PwC - UAH 5 million to the Help Ukraine Fund, Group DF - UAH 100 million to the NBU special account, JTI - USD 25 thousand in UAH equivalent to the Caritas Kyiv Fund and another USD 25 thousand to the Kran Fund, ConcordBank transferred UAH 1 million to the army, BASF - transferred € 1 million to the account of the Red Cross, Metinvest sent 300 million UAH to support the territorial defense of Ukraine (for the purchase of bulletproof vests, helmets, first aid kits), Sony Group Corporation - 2 million USD to the UN Refugee Agency, Save the Children, Raiffeisen Bank - UAH 165, 9 million to the Ukrainian Red Cross. L’Oréal is implementing a humanitarian action plan with local and international NGOs to support the growing number of refugees leaving Ukraine. Thus, the company delivers hygiene products to refugees who have arrived. In total, USD 1.1 million was donated to the L’Oréal Women’s Fund. The company plans to donate 300,000 products in the coming weeks. Meest Group is intensively involved in the International Charitable Foundation Mist to import and transfer humanitarian aid to victims of armed conflicts in Ukraine. Also, the Meest Group of Companies has opened humanitarian offices in foreign offices in Europe, the United States and Canada, which it delivers free of charge to Ukraine to organizations responsible for its distribution in Ukraine. Gestors Attorneys Association is the exclusive representative of the Employment Law Alliance in Ukraine, the largest network of lawyers in the field of labor law in the world, has started voluntary fundraising for the needs of the Ukrainian army to the relevant accounts of the NBU. Centravis volunteers prepare food for the fighters, collect things, assist helpless neighbours and strangers. Unilever supports a global humanitarian mission and is currently working with local NGO partners to provide € 5 million worth of food, cosmetics and personal care products to Ukrainians affected by the war. The company also announced a voluntary fundraising program from employees around the world. The amount raised will be doubled from the companys funds. Due to the Russian aggression against Ukraine, Delta Wilmar Ukraine LLC has temporarily suspended production activities – all processes, export and import of products, logistics activities. At the same time, in order to prevent a shortage of essential goods in Ukraine, the company ships raw materials for the bakery and dairy industries. The transport, equipment and material resources available to the enterprise were transferred for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the territorial defense of Odesa region. Employees of the company mobilized to join the Armed Forces to defend the independence of our state. And the company transferred 10 million to the army. Redcliffe Partners provides support to the Embassy of Ukraine in the United Kingdom. The company is also actively campaigning with international law firms and relevant legal associations to suspend cooperation with Russian offices. Besides, it transferred UAH 500,000 to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Chernivtsigaz provides assistance to the Territorial Defense Forces and the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the form of equipment and repair materials. Employees produce anti-tank hedgehogs. Ivano-Frankivskgaz financed the purchase by the regional state administration of more than 10 tons of fuel, food and basic necessities for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition, food kits, pillows and blankets worth a total of UAH 550,000 were handed over to the Center for Assistance to Ukrainians who are temporarily forced to leave their homes. Dnipropetrovskgaz donated 13 of its own cars and 2,500 liters of fuel to transport the wounded and for territorial defense. Besides, special vehicles are digging trenches and workers are filling sandbags for protective structures. In addition to hedgehogs and thorns for checkpoints, Vinnytsiagaz has started making barbecues and potbelly stoves to help keep warm and prepare food in the field. In the city, the company has arranged conditions for the reception of temporarily displaced persons. Lvivgaz purchased medicines and products for IDPs. They were transferred to the regional coordination volunteer headquarters. Rivnegaz started production of beds for the military unit, sewing mattresses and pillows. For the needs of the soldiers, Khmelnytskygaz manufactured and handed over mobile heating means for the “potbelly stove”, as well as mobile heating points - metal “cars” that will allow the defenders to rest and keep warm. Volyngas provided financial assistance in the amount of UAH 75,000 from trade union funds. With these funds they bought military clothes and blankets, food they need: vermicelli, oil, canned food, sausages, sugar, tea, coffee. Mykolaivgaz purchased the necessary medical supplies and equipment worth UAH 1 million for the needs of the region. Zeelandia has opened a bakery to provide food for the Territorial Defense checkpoints. UIFK-AGRO provided 2 wagons of grains for flour processing and organised kitchen that feeds local checkpoints. New Products Group provided 10,000 bottles of drinking water at 10 blood transfusion points. IT companies also provide financial support. For example, N-iX purchased computers and surveillance systems, as well as donated UAH 1.8 million to the military. Intellias donated UAH 600,000 to the Save Life Fund. Sigma Software donated almost UAH 9 million to the army (half of which is employee contributions). WOG donated more than 285,000 liters of fuel to the Armed Forces, Territorial Defense, etc. OKKO - more than 50 thousand liters and 2 million UAH from customers to the Save Life Fund. SOCAR Blago together with the Your Support Charitable Fund has launched the HELP UKRAINE Charitable Project! Watsons collected and sent humanitarian aid packages to the following organizations and cities: Dnipro - for a childrens boarding school; Lutsk - for territorial defense; Khmelnytsky - for volunteers; Mykolaiv - for volunteers; Chortkiv - for territorial defense; Ternopil - for territorial defense; Chernivtsi - for refugees; Vyshgorod - for the hospital. Besides, the CISC team launched the Spivdiia platform to bring together volunteer and government initiatives for humanitarian aid during the war. Kyivstar, Vodafone Ukraine and lifecell have announced the launch of national roaming in Ukraine. National roaming is the use of the capacity of all mobile operators in the event that it is not possible to use the services of its operator. Moreover, lifecell, for example, helps Ukrainians stay in touch by topping up extra 10,000 minutes on the numbers of the military and medics so that they can call free, providing free calls to Ukraine from abroad, etc. And thats not all the stories.
