Business continues to support Ukraine during the war

18/ 03/ 2022
It goes the fourth week of the war waged by Russia against Ukraine. We sincerely thank the companies that not only continue their work but also direct additional efforts to help the Armed Forces and territorial defense units, doctors, and the people. We are proud that the EBA member companies actively support the country during the war and here we present the inspiring stories of this week. Since the outbreak of the war, Carlsberg Ukraine plants have been producing drinking water and delivering it to all parts of Ukraine in partnership with charitable organizations. To date, more than 506,000 liters have been shipped. Drinking water is available for shipment in Kyiv, Lviv, and Zaporizhia. The warehouses of the plants became hubs for receiving humanitarian cargo and coordinating its further distribution. Carlsberg Ukraine also provided the Okhmatdyt Childrens Specialized Hospital with additional electricity by supplying a diesel generator. Globally, the Carlsberg Group, the Carlsberg Foundation, and the Tuborg Foundation have transferred 75 million Danish kroner to help Ukraine. In partnership with the Red Cross, the Carlsberg Group has set up a fund to donate to all members of the Group. As of now, more than 70,000 euros have been raised. The Ovostar Union continues its operations and works with volunteers who provide food for the Armed Forces and with local military commissariats, local communities where it has a production presence to provide people with food. The company also shipped charity to the John of Shanghai and San Francisco Miracle Workers Foundations, the Constellation of Angels Foundation, the Food Protection Center, the Tabernacle Christian Church, and the Territorial Defense Units in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast. Currently, the Ovostar Union is working on logistics to supply products to the public. In the first weeks, Bayer employees have already donated more than 800,000 euros to support the population in Ukraine. Despite its long presence in the Russian market, REHAUs management has decided to suspend operations in Russia and Belarus and focus on supporting colleagues and their families in Ukraine. As the invasion started, the Wagner family (of the REHAU Group President) established the Family for Families Emergency Support fund. Employees from around the world are donating money to support families from the affected areas. Two humanitarian cargoes with medicines and food were organized, one of which is now going to Lviv. Colleagues from countries adjacent to Ukraine volunteer to meet Ukrainian employees with children at the border, organize their transfer and accommodation, help with paperwork and adaptation to a new place. A multilingual consulting channel has been established to provide primary psychological assistance in crisis situations, obtain information on legal issues, accommodation and assistance to temporarily displaced persons.
