ENGin seeks Board Member to drive Strategic Partnerships in Ukraine

22/ 04/ 2025
ENGin is a grassroots nonprofit that has developed an innovative, highly scalable online program combining skill-building and mentorship for Ukrainians to promote social mobility and economic growth. We’re seeking a highly connected and influential leader to join our board and drive strategic partnerships, corporate sponsorships, and organizational growth in Ukraine. This is a unique opportunity to help guide a one-of-a-kind organization with a group of international business leaders and make a tangible contribution to Ukraine’s future.  ABOUT ENGin Established in 2020, ENGin has connected over 29,000 Ukrainians to English-speaking volunteers for online conversation practice. In just 1 hour/week, our volunteers create a safe, authentic space for their matched learners to break the language barrier, discover a new culture, benefit from academic or professional mentorship, and receive emotional support.   Our simple model has an incredible impact. 99% of our Ukrainian learners improve their English, 79% form lasting friendships, and 42% of those who are seeking professional growth get new jobs, promotions, or salary increases within a year. Volunteers also reap major benefits from the experience, discovering Ukrainian culture, making Ukrainian friends, and becoming steadfast supporters of Ukraine. 66% of volunteers support Ukraine in other ways as a result of volunteering with us. In the future, we aim to connect over a million Ukrainians with English speakers in the US and worldwide, forging supportive, authentic relationships, building a foundation of English fluency, and opening doors to academic and professional opportunities. Taken together, a million incremental improvements in participants’ lives will catalyze economic and social development at a national scale. BOARD MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES  Leverage business networks in Ukraine to secure corporate sponsorships and funding for ENGin’s programs. Facilitate introductions to key organisations in Ukraine that may be interested in ENGin as an opportunity for their employees or members.  Advocate for ENGin’s mission within the business community to expand its reach and impact. Provide strategic guidance on scaling partnerships and enhancing sustainability. Actively engage in board discussions of a U.S. based non-profit with global reach and contribute to fundraising and growth initiatives. The ideal candidate is: Deeply connected in Ukraine’s business and corporate sectors Passionate about Ukrainian education and integration into the global community.
