Business welcomes Parliament’s efforts to strengthen accountability for violations by military recruitment and medical commissions

12/ 03/ 2025
On 12 March, the Verkhovna Rada passed in the first reading Draft Law No. 12442, introducing criminal liability for violations committed by authorised representatives of Territorial Recruitment Centres (TRCs) and Military Medical Commissions (MMCs). This was announced by MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak. The European Business Association had previously expressed its support for this legislative initiative. The business community hopes that the adoption of the law will help establish transparent and fair conditions for all parties, combat corruption, and ensure stable operations and predictability of production processes for businesses crucial to the economy. The EBA welcomes MPs efforts to improve legislation to prevent violations by TRCs and MMCs. Businesses look forward to the law’s final adoption and are ready to contribute to its refinement before the second reading if necessary.
