Consumer Electronics

30/ 06/ 2021
EBA welcomes the adoption of amendments to the Technical Regulations restricting the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The EBA always emphasized the importance of harmonizing the sphere of technical regulations in Ukraine in accordance with EU legislation. In particular, the EBA members drew the attention of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine to the introduction of new dates of entering into force of some limitations on usage of hazardous substances in the European Union and asked the Ministry to adopt the relevant changes into the Ukrainian legislation. As a result, the Ministry has elaborated a draft Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine №671, which was supported by the Government on 30 June 2021, and amended the Technical Regulations on limitation of usage of hazardous substances in consumer electronics. We believe that harmonization of the technical regulations system in accordance with the EU regulations will allow Ukraine to sign the ACAA agreement on mutual recognition of conformity assessment procedures and therefore contribute to the trade growth. We are grateful to the Ministry and other involved state authorities for elaboration and adoption of Resolution №671 and hope for further constructive cooperation. If you need additional information, please contact [email protected], Senior Manager of the  EBA Consumer Electronics and Regulatory Committees.
