The EBA welcomes adoption of the Resolution 688 on amendments to the Technical Regulations on limitation of usage of hazard substances in consumer electronics that was elaborated in cooperation with the EBA Consumer Electronics Committee.

This Resolution brings the dates of entering into force of some limitations on usage of hazard substances in Ukraine in compliance with recent changes to the EU Directive. The EBA experts informed the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine regarding the abovementioned changes and supported the Ministry in elaboration and lobbying of the relevant amendments to Ukrainian legislation.

We strongly believe in importance of harmonizing requirements of Ukrainian legislation in accordance with the EU Directives and hope that this will speed up signing of the ACAA agreement with the EU. The ACAA agreement foresees mutual recognition of labelling and conformity procedures and will significantly facilitate trade between Ukraine and the European Union.

We are grateful to the Ministry and other involved authorities for adoption of this Resolution and hope for further constructive cooperation.
