Grain and Oilseeds

11/ 07/ 2018
EBA Grain & Oilseed Committee has repeatedly emphasized the necessity to demonopolize and deregulate the field of phytosanitary laboratory services. Today, an important decision was made to achieve this goal – the Members of the Parliament have supported the draft law No. 6673 On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding the Settlement of Certain Phytosanitary Procedures. We are convinced that the proposed innovations will contribute to the optimization of the phytosanitary control system with account to growing volumes of production and export of crops. This legislative initiative will lead to the expansion of the network of phytosanitary laboratories, which will allow farmers to reduce the time of the relevant procedures, at the same time avoiding duplication of operations. It will also improve the quality of phytosanitary procedures and minimize the costs and risks of agrarian enterprises. The EBA expresses its gratitude to the Verkhovna Rada`s Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations, the State Food Security Service, Minagropolicy and all other representatives of the grain community that supported this initiative.
