Consumer Electronics

07/ 12/ 2011
As a result of EBAs lobbying efforts the National Commission on the Regulation of Telecommunication of Ukraine (hereinafter – NCRT) considered the recommendations of EBA Consumer Electronics Committee on radio electronics registration labelling and fixed them in the Draft Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Now the document contains the provisions which will simplify the rules and reduce the term of registration labels obtaining, ease the reporting for used labels and grant large importers a possibility to create a reserve fund for registration labels. Background: The draft regulation on registration labelling of radio electronics that was initially available for public discussion contained multiple burdensome procedures and could significantly complicate business activities of radio electronics producers in Ukraine. EBA Consumer Electronics Committee analysed the draft, elaborated the recommendations on how to simplify radio electronics labelling and actively participated in the public discussion of the draft regulatory act. As a result, on 24 November 2011 the NCRT approved the Draft Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on Labelling of Radio Electronics and Emitting Devices Imported, Produced and Sold in Ukraine with its Decision No. 670. A number of Committee’s recommendations are stated in the draft. We are happy to inform you about this progress and we will do our best to solve this issue so that simplified procedures of radio electronics registration labelling are set.
