The European Business Association welcomes publication of draft Resolution on cancelation of Technical Regulations on energy labeling of vacuum cleaners

The EBA continues to emphasize the importance of harmonizing the sphere of technical regulations in Ukraine in accordance with the EU legislation. In particular, the EBA members drew the attention of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine (State Agency) to the repeal of Commission Regulation (EC) N665/2013 on energy labeling of vacuum cleaners in the EU, on the basis of which the Ukrainian Technical Regulation on energy labeling of vacuum cleaners was elaborated.

The EBA Consumer Electronics Committee drew the attention of the state authorities to the fact that such inconsistency led to delays in customs clearance due to the inability to produce an energy label in the EU and its necessity for the customs clearance in Ukraine, as well as increased costs for Ukrainian manufacturers and importers for testing of vacuum cleaners. Therefore, the EBA Consumer Electronics Committee asked state authorities to speed up elaboration and adoption of the Resolution on the cancelation of the Technical Regulations on energy labeling of vacuum cleaners.

We are grateful to the State Agency for elaboration and publication of the relevant draft Resolution on its website and hope for further constructive cooperation aimed to adopt it as soon as possible.
