Odesa Legal issues, Odesa Agricultural issues

20/ 03/ 2024
Land has always been one of the most valuable resources for the development of the economy and society as a whole. Its proper use and protection are the keys to the countrys sustainable development and the prosperity of its citizens. However, land disputes, illegal seizures, and other forms of abuse can pose a serious threat to businesses and landowners rights. Therefore, on March 20, 2023, during a joint online session of the Legal Committee and the Agricultural Working Group of the EBA Southern Ukrainian Office, current issues of land legislation and protecting businesses from land raiding were discussed. The event was chaired by Viktor Kobilyansky, a lawyer, Director of the Land Law Office, and Chairman of the NALU Committee on Agricultural, Land, and Environmental Law. The co-moderators were Arthur Nitsevych, Chairman of the Odesa Legal Committee, Partner at Interlegal, and Konstantin Furman, Chairman of the Odesa Agricultural Working Group, Head of the Operational and Legal Support Department of the Agrofusion group of companies. Todays meeting was aimed not only to consider recent changes in legislation related to land issues but also to answer the question of how to ensure effective protection of business and landowners rights in a changing legislative environment. Therefore, it is important to emphasize that the development of effective mechanisms for land rights protection and prevention of land raiding requires joint efforts of governmental bodies, businesses, civil society, and other stakeholders. Only through such a comprehensive approach can stability and legal certainty in land relations be achieved. Thank to everyone who participated. Our joint efforts may contribute to the creation of a fair and stable land market.
