Kinstellar sponsors a private dinner in Berlin between Oleksandr Kamyshin, Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine, and leading international defence companies

17/ 06/ 2024
12 June 2024 – Kinstellar was pleased to have been invited by hosts US-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) to sponsor an off-the-record dinner with Oleksandr Kamyshin, Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine, and C-suite executives from leading global defence companies, at the sides of the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC) in Berlin. Kinstellar Partner, Daniel Bilak, moderated a wide-ranging and lively discussion between Minister Kamyshin and the defence industry participants that also involved Deputy Ministers Hanna Hvozdiar and Serhiy Boyev. Oleksandr Kamyshin noted, “We are grateful to our international partners for your vital support of Ukraine and the on-going development of Ukraine’s defence industrial base. My ministry will continue to do everything possible, and impossible, to make investing in our defence industries attractive to you. We are certain that we can win this war with your help. Investing in the Ukrainian defence sector is mutually beneficial for you and for us.” The guests discussed participation in the ministry’s new initiative, “Zbroyari” (Armourers), designed to deepen productive cooperation between foreign and Ukrainian defence manufacturers. Deputy Ministers Boyev and Hvozdiar explored with the group the modalities of investment, as well as the advantages to foreign companies of being part of the rapid technological innovation taking place in Ukraine under battlefield conditions.  Confirming Kinstellar’s continued commitment to enhancing public-private sector engagement to boost Ukraine’s defence capabilities, Daniel Bilak commented that, “Every day, our firm works with clients to advance to Victory. This is total resistance – everyone in Ukraine is either on the front lines or working for the front lines.” He also emphasized the need for defence industry firms to continue to press their home governments to be more creative in providing funding support to the investments of their defence manufacturers in Ukraine. Kinstellar is Ukraine’s and the region’s leading defence sector law firm. We are an integral part of the Ukrainian military technology and manufacturing ecosystem, helping our global and SME clients to navigate the shoals of Ukraine’s regulatory and government decision-making processes. Our recent mandates include advising Rheinmetall Land Systeme GmbH, BAE Systems, and other global clients in connection with their projects in Ukraine, as well as assisting smaller miltech companies, including drone manufacturers, with market entry and co-venturing opportunities. Kinstellar recently organized the acclaimed Ukrainian Drone Defence Forum, Drones: Delivering Victory in London, with 240 participants drawn from the UK and Ukrainian government and defence industries. Established in 1995, USUBC is a business association that promotes strong, friendly bilateral ties between the U.S. and Ukraine. The association is currently coordinating advocacy, recovery and relief efforts to help Ukraine in its fight for freedom.
