Meeting with Lviv Regional Department of Security Service in Ukraine

On March 21, members of the Association initiated the meeting with Oleksandr Tkachuk, Head of the Security Services of Ukraine, and his colleagues. The meeting started with the following statement made by Oleksandr Tkachuk “In case you have any questions to inappropriate actions by employees of the Security Service, please contact me directly. Here is my phone number…”. During the meeting Head of the Security Services of Ukraine in Lviv region also said “We need to understand that situation in the East of Ukraine, concerns about emigres, weapon in hands of an average citizen, corruption in various levels of state authorities affect economic condition of Ukraine and Lviv region in particular”. Among other things, our invited guests also emphasized the fact that with the purpose of protection of Ukraine, Security Service monitors all the counteragents that in one way or another conduct business with the Russian Federation. Oleksandr Tkachuk assured all the attendees of the meeting that any representative of security bodies, Head of Department, or Deputy Head are the objects of anticorruption activity of Security Services of Ukraine. Concerning the database and personal data protection, Roman Trukhin, representative of the UnderDefense Company, confirmed the fact that Ukraine is a testing area for different kinds of viruses and hacking attacks. In addition, Roman underlined that data protection is a responsibility of managers and company owners. Hence, business representatives are now aware of main tasks of the Security Services of Ukraine at the moment, possibility of reforming authorities involved in anticorruption sphere, business security issues, and possibility of cooperation to create a cybersecurity hub on the territory of Lviv region. It was the first ever meeting between the Association members and Security Services of Ukraine in Lviv region. On behalf of the Association members, we would like to thank Oleksandr Tkachuk and his colleagues for active participation and work they carry out to protect us and our activities.
