Meeting of the Tax Committee of the European Business Association

  On 6 March, the European Business Association held a meeting of its Tax Committee, during which participants discussed current issues of tax regulation and practical aspects of business interaction with the tax authorities. One of the key topics of the meeting was proposals to improve the functionality of the taxpayer’s electronic cabinet. In particular, participants highlighted the need to additionally notify companies via their official email addresses about messages from the tax authorities that are sent to the taxpayer’s electronic cabinet. The discussion also focused on the need for additional services for analysing tax information by region, for example regarding the existence of local tax arrears. A separate part of the meeting was devoted to discussing draft general tax consultations currently being developed by the Expert Council under the Ministry of Finance. Members of the Association’s Tax Committee also drew attention to the entry into force of amendments to the Tax Code introducing e-Audit. Offices for Large Taxpayers of the State Tax Service have already begun conducting documentary audits during which they request information in the form of SAF-T files. Participants shared practical experience in preparing the necessary materials for such audits and highlighted potential risks related to the requirement to provide documents within tight deadlines. In addition, Committee members discussed draft laws on the regulation of transfer pricing issues that were published on the official website of the Ministry of Finance. The Association has already received an invitation from the Ministry to discuss these draft laws within an expert circle. At the end of the meeting, company representatives agreed to prepare a consolidated position of the business community regarding certain provisions on transfer pricing proposed by the Ministry of Finance. The Association thanks the members of the Tax Committee for their active participation in the discussion and constructive exchange of views. The business community will continue to support professional dialogue with government authorities in order to improve tax regulation and the business environment in Ukraine.
