Business Meeting with the Leadership of Kherson Regional Military Administration

    On January 25, 2024, during challenging times for Kherson Oblast, an online meeting among the leadership of Kherson Regional Military Administration and the business community, with the participation of the Southern Ukraine Office of the European Business Association took place. Despite constant aggressor shelling, government representatives demonstrated openness and readiness to jointly respond to challenges. During the meeting, issues of economic recovery for the region were discussed, particularly the support for businesses affected by military actions. Urgent issues and problems hindering recovery and business operations were also discussed, including debts for electricity during the occupation and obtaining decisions to confirm force majeure circumstances. The Kherson Oblast Military Administration presented strategic plans for protecting businesses and ensuring economic stability in times of war. Katerina Morozova, the head of the EBA Southern Ukraine Office, expressed solidarity with businesses in Kherson and informed about one of the lobbying efforts from the previous year. She highlighted the EBAs position on regions affected by war, proposing specific steps for addressing urgent issues in governance. Namely: Measures for the survival of businesses and entrepreneurs and coverage of losses in territories, ensuring stimulation of business development and entrepreneurs in territories, including the development and implementation of programs to stimulate the recovery of economic activity in territories. She also emphasized the importance of involving businesses and territorial communities in filling investment objects on the EBA Investment Map of Ukraine. Additionally, she shared information about the In Search of Investments Project and expressed readiness to share all resources for a common purpose. We express gratitude to government representatives for transparency in their work and openness to dialogue. The joint efforts of government representatives, businesses, and international partners are expected to open new perspectives for the economic recovery of the region and ensure its stability in times of unrest and threats. On January 25, 2024, during challenging times for Kherson Oblast, an online meeting among the leadership of Kherson Regional Military Administration and the business community, with the participation of the Southern Ukraine Office of the European Business Association took place.
