Advocacy achievements of the week

  The current week was marked by the signing of two laws that provide for a number of important updates for the food, dairy, and energy industries. The President signed a law on energy efficiency This week, the President of Ukraine signed the Law on Energy Efficiency, which aims to create new framework conditions for promoting energy efficiency in all sectors of the economy. In particular, the law lays the foundation for financing state energy efficiency programs. Thus, it contains the requirement to allocate at least 1% of the budget expenditure on energy efficiency programs annually. It should be reminded that the legislation in this area has not been updated since 1994. The President signed a law on the safety of baby food Also, earlier this week, the President signed a draft law “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Concerning the Harmonization of the Legislation of Ukraine in the Field of Childhood Nutrition with EU Legislation” (Law 1822-IX) which was actively drafted and developed by the experts from the European Business Association. Such changes will modernize state regulation in the field of childhood nutrition, in particular. Thus, the document abolishes outdated and ineffective norms, as well as strengthens the requirements for baby food to those that are effective in the EU. Business welcomes the signing of the above-mentioned laws, which will help modernize outdated Ukrainian legislation and harmonize it with EU standards. Therefore, we thank the President of Ukraine, as well as all those involved in the process of developing and adopting these two important documents!

The President signed a law on energy efficiency

This week, the President of Ukraine signed the Law on Energy Efficiency, which aims to create new framework conditions for promoting energy efficiency in all sectors of the economy.
