Advocacy successes of the week

11/ 09/ 2020
The traditional revival of business activity in autumn had a favorable impact on the number of positive decisions. While last week there was barely any progress on the EBA initiatives, this week we have two important achievements in the areas of HR and logistics. So, briefly about the main news: SRSU did not approve the draft order of the MIU on the unification of tariffs on empty runs On August 5, 2020, the Ministry of Infrastructure published a draft Order proposing the unification of tariffs on empty runs, namely, the establishment of a single tariff rate for running empty railroad cars of all classes and its further indexation. The Association appealed to the relevant agencies to establish a moratorium on any increase in tariffs for rail freight (including by their unification ) until the end of 2020. After all, in the crisis of 2020, any increase in tariffs will create excessive financial pressure on the business. The Association welcomes the decision of the SRSU to disapprove of the draft Order and thanks for considering the position of the logistics community! The Verkhovna Rada has taken a step towards the introduction of electronic workbooks Business welcomes the adoption of draft law №3623, which introduces the electronic format of employment relations, in the first reading.  The draft law will allow the business to reduce the cost of paperwork, minimize the risks associated with the loss of paper workbook and possible falsification of records, and enable the automatic accrual of retirement benefits. As some issues remain unresolved, we hope that the initiative will be finalized considering the proposals from the business.  We look forward to more good news for the business in the coming week!   Be the first to learn about the latest EBA news with our Telegram-channel – EBAUkraine.
