Collection of Ukrainian books for orphans abroad

04/ 07/ 2023
OTP Bank started a campaign to collect Ukrainian books for orphans who got a shelter abroad because of the war. OTP Banks employees, partners, clients, as well as everyone willing to help children maintain a mental connection with Ukraine can participate in the collection. State Tax Service of Ukraine and structural subdivisions of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine have already joined to this project. One can bring a book to any OTP Bank branch (please, see the map of branches following the link). Any book is expected to be published in Ukrainian. With the help of Ukrainian embassies abroad, all the collected books will be transferred to libraries and schools in EU countries that have sheltered Ukrainian children. Because of the war, many orphanages were evacuated abroad. Children live and study in safety, but often without a Ukrainian-speaking environment, support of Ukrainian culture, reading Ukrainian books. And it turned out to be impossible to solve this problem in that countries. Therefore, we call on everyone to join the project to help children read in their native language, said Lesya Syrota, OTP Banks Retail Business Sales Director and team leader of the OTP Bank Helps Ukraine charity project.
