EBA Kharkiv Coordination Council Meeting

21/ 09/ 2022
For the first time in several months of the full-scale invasion, the EBA Kharkiv Coordination Council (CC) members gathered together to discuss current affairs, plans for the future, and share their forecasts for the course of events. The main topic of the meeting was the situation in the Kharkiv region. Ihor Balaka, regularly visiting his hometown and providing considerable support to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and people, affected by the war, noted that now, unfortunately, most businesses have been «put on hold» for an indefinite period of time or ceased to exist at all. The future investment attractiveness of the region is currently in doubt, because investors understand the real risks emanating from the geographical location of a peaceful city however bordering a very aggressive neighbor.. According to those present, the restoration of Kharkiv might be possible due to the Marshal Plan-2 and reparations. However, it is too early to talk about it now, because the war is still going on. Head of the CC Oksana Shakhova, Council members Ihor Sbitnev (French Boulevard Shopping Mall), Eduard Rubin (Telesens) shared their experience of living and working in relocation. The conclusion is unanimous – there’s no place like home! «We are all at a turning point right now, because we are destined to witness colossal geopolitical changes on the world stage. Ukraine and Kharkiv in particular may become a kind of  Night Watch that will protect all of Europe from disaster beyond the wall,» said Serhii Polituchy (Factor GC). Everyone was incredibly happy to see each other even online. We look forward to new meetings! Believe in the Armed Forces and our Victory!
