Join the EBA Business Forum: From Shadows to Transparency 2.0

06/ 12/ 2021
Today, there are two parallel realities in Ukraine. The transparent business that pays the necessary taxes and fees, and thus being exposed to fiscal pressure. And the shadow business that ignores legal requirements does not pay taxes, and thus being out of sight of authorities – they do not come there with inspections. Meanwhile, the shadow economy brings enormous losses – for both transparent companies and the state. Thus, the state budget has a shortfall of UAH 5 billion due to the gray consumer electronics market, UAH 16 billion from the illegal trade in tobacco products, about UAH 14 billion from the illegal market of alcohol and spirits, UAH 2 billion from the illegal jewelry import, etc. Law-abiding businesses are convinced that this cannot continue, and instead of increasing the pressure and tax burden on white businesses, it is worth trying to finally bring Ukraines economy out of the shadows and create equal and fair business conditions for all. We will talk about this issue on December 10 at 11.00, at the Business Forum: From Shadows to Transparency 2.0. REGISTER HERE There will be the presentation of cases that demonstrate the scale of counterfeit products in various fields and the negative consequences of illegal trade for the state and business. We will pay special attention to the steps that the state must take to combat the shadow. After all, now we see attempts to postpone/repeal the rules once again on the use of cash registers or software RSO, which is not entirely consistent with the declared policy to deshadowing the economy. Agenda Panel I. Business exit: can the law-abiding ones survive the pressure? Panel II. Deshadowing vs transparent business The effective quarantine restrictions will be effective during the event. See you on December 10 at the InterContinental Kyiv Hotel (Golden Gate Hall, 2A Velyka Zhytomyrska Street).   Given the quarantine restrictions, you will need to provide one of the following COVID-19 documents to be able to attend the event: a vaccination certificate that proves that you have two doses of a vaccine* a negative test result certificate (PCR or antigen test, done within 72 hours) a COVID-19 recovery certificate Both international and domestic vaccination certificates are acceptable as long as their validity can be confirmed with the Unified State Web Portal of Electronic Services. It is also possible to provide a digital COVID-certificate with the use of the Diia mobile application. *A vaccine must be approved for emergency use by the World Health Organization. For the security check, all participants must comply with sanitary rules, including social distancing, temperature screening, and mask-wearing. In case of non-compliance, we will have to refuse your visit. Please note that prior registration is required, and only registered participants will be informed of any possible schedule changes. Media accreditation is required via [email protected] We look forward to meeting you at our discussion! *The event is supported by the Detinizaciya Communication Platform
