The Western Ukrainian Office of the European Business Association took part in the business seminar “Business Opportunities in Lviv, Western Ukraine” in Düsseldorf

23/ 06/ 2026
The seminar was organized by Invest in Lviv, together with the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Germany, JIHK, and JETRO Düsseldorf. It brought together representatives of 26 Japanese companies based in Düsseldorf, including Metal One, Sojitz Solvadis, Marubeni Itochu Steel Europe, and KAMOI Europe. It was an important opportunity to present Lviv directly to foreign investors, highlighting the city’s investment potential, development projects, and practical support services for international business, including Japan Desk Lviv and German Desk Lviv. These initiatives help international companies better understand the local context, find partners, and build trusted connections in the region. The discussion also brought together representatives of leading Japanese and international organizations, including JETRO Warsaw, Fujikura Automotive Ukraine, Daiwa House Group, Nippon Koei, BDP, and EBA Lviv, the Western Ukrainian Office of the European Business Association. Participants discussed both ongoing initiatives and new opportunities for cooperation, including the social housing project for cancer patients, developed together with Daiwa House Group. A particularly valuable part of the seminar was the practical experience shared by Fujikura Automotive Ukraine. The company spoke about maintaining operational stability, business continuity, and reliable deliveries despite the challenges of the full scale war. Its Business Continuity Plan and contingency measures show how companies in Ukraine continue to work, adapt, and remain reliable partners even in times of uncertainty.ʼ For us, this is a powerful example of what Ukrainian business resilience means today. It is not only about overcoming challenges. It is about building trust, predictability, responsibility, and confidence for international partners. We also welcome the participation of Invest in Lviv in Japan Tag Düsseldorf 2026, one of the largest Japanese events in Europe. Such formats help expand contacts, better understand the expectations of Japanese business, and strengthen interest in cooperation with Lviv and Ukraine. We sincerely appreciate the attention of the Japanese business community to Ukraine, Lviv, and the Western region. Dialogues like this create the foundation for new partnerships, joint projects, and practical solutions for Ukraine’s recovery and development. Thank you to Invest in Lviv, Lviv City Council, JIHK, JETRO Düsseldorf, and all partners and participants for strengthening the bridge of trust between Ukraine and Japan.
