The European Business Association has been included in the EU Transparency Register

27/ 06/ 2022
We are pleased to announce that the European Business Association has been included in the EU Transparency Register. It is a database of organizations that interact (and represent interests) with EU institutions to impact the development, formulation or implementation of EU policies or legislation. The register operates to ensure transparent and ethical interest representation during such interaction. View the EBA entry in the Register Having such registration is a mandatory prerequisite for the representation of interests concerning certain EU institutions. With the registration, the EBA can interact with EU institutions, namely the European Parliament, the European Commission, and the Council of the European Union, to represent the interests of the EBA member companies by participating in the development, formulation or implementation of EU policies, legislation or the decision-making processes of EU institutions. The EBA inclusion in the Register implies a commitment to comply with the Code of Conduct, which regulates how exactly stakeholders should interact with the EU institutions. Compliance with the Code of Conduct is a prerequisite for us to remain on the Register. Therefore, in the context of working on EU legislative proposals, policies or initiatives, we can: Organize or participate in meetings, conferences or events, as well as engage in any similar contacts with the EU institutions (for example, meeting with EU decision-makers or employees of EU institutions). For that, we can be given access to the premises of the EU institutions; Contribute to or participate in consultations, briefing sessions, hearings, working groups, or other similar initiatives organized by the EU institutions; Organize and participate in communication campaigns, platforms, networks and grassroots initiatives; Prepare or commission strategic and position papers, amendments, opinion polls and surveys, open letters and other communication or information material, as well as request and carry out research; Interact with other EU institutions (organizations) that require registration in the Register of an interest representative who is going to interact with them. Inclusion in the EU Transparency Register is an important prerequisite and the first step toward expanding the EBAs influence and presence in the European market in order to create new opportunities for our member companies.
