The Verkhovna Rada did not support the postponement of the use of cash registers

17/ 12/ 2021
During an extraordinary sitting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine today, an attempt was made to postpone the introduction of mandatory use of cash registers. Thus, there was an attempt to put draft law №6376 on the vote. This document proposes to postpone for another year (until January 1, 2023) the mandatory use of registrars of settlement operations (RSO) by individual entrepreneurs (FOPs) who are payers of the single tax of 2-4 groups. However, this attempt (draft law №6376) was not supported. The European Business Association thanks MPs and personally the Chair of the VRU Committee on Tax and Customs Policy – Danylo Hetmantsev for hearing and supporting the voice of transparent business. Thus, the EBA opposed the adoption of such a draft law. After all, only the rules on the mandatory use of RSO can bring Ukraines economy out of the shadows and help increase state budget revenues, strengthen consumer protection and create equal and civilized conditions for doing business. These theses were discussed during the recent EBA Business Forum From Shadows to Transparency 2.0. Besides, modern technologies, namely, the ability to use the RSO in a smartphone allows bona fide business to start using cash registers in an easy, fast, and cheap way. Thus, businesses now have the opportunity to use both free RSO software developed by fiscal authorities and commercial versions offered by various companies. This, in turn, saves a lot of business money (up to 5 thousand hryvnias per year according to the EBA experts), and the time of consumers at the checkpoint (by almost 3 times), and contribute to the preservation of our forests as the need to print a check is reduced.   Be the first to learn about the latest EBA news with our Telegram-channel – EBAUkraine.
