Visit of the Ambassador of the European Union to Ukraine Matti Maasikas to EBA member company  ”Sintez-Group”

On October 27, 2021 Ambassador of the European Union to Ukraine Matti Maasikas paid a visit to Odesa. Together with representatives of the EU Delegation and the EBA Southern Ukrainian Office, the Ambassador visited the production facilities of the EBA member company. It should be mentioned that Odesa region is a very interesting and promising place for doing business. Located on the Black Sea shore at the crossroads of major transportation routes, the region has a strategically advantageous geographical position, which is especially important for the development of trade and economic cooperation with the countries of Europe, Asia and Africa. Odesa region is the main sea gate and export-import hub of Ukraine. It is the largest in Ukraine by its area, is in top 5 by population and in top 3 most attractive for migrants. Also, Odesa ranks among leading regions in Ukraine for attraction of foreign investments and in the EBA Southern Ukrainian Office investors from different countries are presented, among them: Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Switzerland, Turkey and others. Our members are producers of wine, oil, tomato paste, other agricultural & tobacco products, heating equipment, the largest grain traders and terminals, engineering and transport companies of Ukraine (sea lines, container terminals, freight forwarders, customs brokers), representatives of financial, legal and consulting sectors, environmental companies engaged in waste processing, etc. This time the representatives of the EU Delegation and EBA visited the factory Agro Dolina and terminal Agro Drive, both  being part of “Sintez-Group’’ and located in the Velykodolynske settlement of the Odesa region. Director on logistics Ayhan Akbaba met the guests and personally conducted a tour over the facilities.  “Sintez-Group’’ is one of the largest Ukrainian pulse exporters and major suppliers of agricultural products from the Black Sea to world markets. Its products are exported since 2005 to more than 40 countries: Germany, Netherland, Greece, Bulgary, Turkey, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, China and others.  3 factories of the group work 7/24 with 1000mt daily crushing capacity which is one of the biggest splitting capacity in this field. Among the products are: yellow peas, corn, wheat, barley, peas, soy bean, rapeseed, coriander, mustard, sunflower seed, etc.  Sintez Group companies export more than 500.000 mt pulses very year. As one of the largest container exporters, Sintez loads more than 8000 containers. All types of agricultural products are able to containerized in Sintez Terminals with handling, custom clearance and certification services.    We are proud that such impressive businesses are working in Ukraine and being EBA members. They are really worth of attention from the side of government agencies, diplomatic corps and European partners. And EBA is always ready to help establish such communication with our member companies.
