Visit of the delegation of the Association to Transcarpathia

    Last week representatives of EBA Western Ukrainian office - Maryana Lutsyshyn, Team leader of the office, Anton Podilchak, Chairman of the Regional Coordination Council, Alina Boychuk, Regional Coordination Council member - visited Zakarpattia region in order to get an understanding of the regional business environment and create special networking occasion for active business in the region. During the visit representatives of business sector in Zakarpattia region had an opportunity to find out more about the compliance policy from Advice Group, and also thanks to Energoatom be introduced to the case study of the implementation of the Integrity & Compliance policy positive influence on the business results of the enterprise. Integrity and transparency are todays global trend in the business environment and its a pleasure to know that there are companies in Ukraine which already can share their example and successes by implementing this practices - said Anton Podilchak during the meeting in Uzhhorod. On Friday, according to the Associations traditions, regional companies were invited to business breakfast. Together with representatives from Zakarpattia Customs, participants discussed the issues of customs value, identifying the product code and post-audit questions, as well as issues of queues at borders and permits for international transportation. During three days, representatives of the Association had an opportunity to understand better the pros and cons of business environment in the region. Among the challenges named by companies were also mentioned shortages of personnel, queues at the borders of the Czech Republic and Slovakia, illegal deforestation, environmental issues and road quality issues, etc. Summing up the business visit, in general it became clear that the regional business are in a need of collective protection of their interests and communication platform, and EBA could be a good instrument for them. On behalf of EBA Western Ukrainian office, we express our sincere gratitude to Anton Podilchak and his colleagues from Advice Group, Iryna Kuhtannych from the Lviv branch of Raiffeisen Bank for the support of the event. Also we thank Andriy Pavliv from UkraineInvest for assistance in arranging meetings and engaging business for the activities held in Uzhgorod. Such a joint efforts brings only positive results. We hope that soon we will be able to invite all those participants of the meetings in Zakarpattia for EBA office opening reception. It is a wonderful region with great investment potential and business opportunities.
