Ukrainian businesses will discuss green recovery plans with the EU

  The EBA Industrial Ecology and Sustainable Development Committee would like to invite you to the EBA expert talk Green recovery of Ukraine for EU decarbonization with the participation of the members of the European Parliament and experts. Ukraine on its way to EU integration does not abandon its environmental and climate goals, despite the economic consequences of the pandemic and the catastrophe of war. Despite the hurdles of wartime, many industrial enterprises are determined to continue implementing the EU environmental standards. The European Business Association and Global Business for Ukraine will hold an expert discussion with speakers from the EU and Ukraine to examine the ways of Ukraine’s green recovery and the role it may play in addressing the decarbonization of the European continent. The expert discussion will be held in the format of a round table participated by the following speakers: Anna Derevyanko, Executive Director of the European Business Association Hildegard Bentele, Member of the European Parliament Axel Eggert, Director General, European Steel Association (EUROFER) Rainer Janssen, President of The Association of European Renewable Energy Research Centers (EUREC) Stanislav Zinchenko, Director of GMK Center, Chairman of the EBA Industrial Ecology and Sustainable Development Committee Rouven Stubbe, Consultant in the Energy & Climate team, Berlin Economics There will be other leading European industry associations and expert centers featured at the event. Ukrainian business is to be represented by members of the EBA Industrial Ecology and Sustainable Development Committee which are the largest manufacturing enterprises and industries of Ukraine in the fields of energy, mining, agriculture, cement, chemistry, and woodworking, as well as other EBA member companies. During the open Q&A discussion, we will take a closer look at the current state of environmental policies in the EU and their inclusion in the post-war reconstruction plan of Ukraine on its way to EU membership.   Also, the EBA Industrial Ecology and Sustainable Development Committee will present its annual policy paper Deregulation of environmental legislation during the war and reforms for eurointegration. This meeting is scheduled for November 25, at 16:00 EEST, and will be held via Zoom.  Prior registration is required and only registered participants will be able to take part in the event.
