EBA joined the meeting of the National Council on Barrier-Free Accessibility

07/ 10/ 2026
Accessibility works when individual solutions become part of a single, integrated system. This was one of the key messages of the meeting of the National Council on Barrier-Free Accessibility, held on 29 September under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Serhii Koretskyi. Representatives of the European Business Association joined the meeting alongside representatives of the Government, central government authorities, local communities, international partners and experts. One of the main points discussed was that accessibility should create a seamless journey for people. Accessible spaces, transport, employment, education, information and services all need to be interconnected. An individual solution may be well designed, but if a person encounters a barrier at the next stage of their journey, the system does not function to its full potential. For business, this means taking a comprehensive approach to accessibility by ensuring the accessibility of products and services, physical, digital and information environments, as well as communication — both within teams and with customers. Companies are already actively developing practical solutions to improve accessibility. It is therefore important that the voice of business is part of shaping accessibility policy, and that government decisions take into account companies’ practical experience and the real challenges they face.
