The reorganization of the Office of Large Taxpayers led to changes in the accounting information of big companies

14/ 01/ 2021
The European Business Association would like to draw the attention of business representatives to the fact that from January 1, 2021, the Office of Large Taxpayers of the State Tax Service will conduct its activities on a sectoral basis without linking companies to the offices that are located closest territorially. At the end of December 2020 Oleksiy Lyubchenko, Head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine, announced these changes to the business community during the respective EBA General meeting. On December 30, this information officially appeared on the website of the State Tax Service of Ukraine. At the same time, the lists of affected companies were published only on January 4, 2021, and can be found at the link. It is worth noting that this reorganization has made drastic changes in the work of big companies. Thus, the taxpayer numbers of some companies have been changed. Understandably, a company operating in Cherkasy and registered with the Dnipro Office of Large Taxpayers could be relocated to Kharkiv. However, no official notice of such a change was provided in the media or through the taxpayers electronic office. Therefore, we draw the businesss attention to the need to clarify the information about changes in the company’s accounting address, as well as invoices for the payment of taxes to avoid transferring funds to wrong accounts and, as a consequence, the emergence of artificial debt. Unfortunately, it takes, at best, about a month to return the wrongly transferred funds. The European Business Association also asks the State Tax Service to inform taxpayers more widely about the changes introduced by the service. Thus, from January 1, 2021, a single account for the payment of taxes was introduced. Therefore, the business expects timely information about the terms and conditions of using this account for all companies in different regions of Ukraine. We hope that in 2021 there will be more transparency and openness in communication between the State Tax Service and the business community.
