General meeting with Artem Sytnyk, Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine

  Today the EBA member companies had the opportunity to meet Artem Sytnyk, the Director of the National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine. We talked about the fight against corruption in Ukraine, peculiarities of the NABU work and efficiency of cooperation between law enforcement authorities and judicial bodies. More than two years have passed since the establishment of NABU – a specialized authority aimed at combating corruption at the top echelons. At the meeting, Mr. Sytnyk shared both successful experience and explained why the fight against corruption in Ukraine is not moving as fast as the society expects. In particular, NABU considers low-efficient judicial system to be one of the main obstacles and believe in the need for a specialized anti-corruption court. Mr. Sytnyk assured business that NABU does comprehensive, not selective work, but to achieve better results they need time and constant improvements within the authority as well as qualitative judicial reform to create a complete vertical to fight with top corruption.
