Consumer Electronics

05/ 07/ 2019
The EBA received the official clarifications from the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine that helped the business society to understand the peculiarities of declaring conformity and application of conformity assessment modules. The EBA Consumer Electronics Committee raised a number of questions regarding the possibility to make a self-declaration of conformity of electronics with the requirements of the Ukrainian technical regulations using the protocols for testing on compliance with the European harmonized standards. Therefore, the EBA Committee addressed a request to the Ministry aimed to obtain official clarifications on the use of conformity assessment modules, peculiarities of involvement of certification bodies, labelling with the conformity mark and using of the protocols on compliance with the EU standards. The Ministry provided detailed clarifications to the issues raised in the EBA letter. Moreover, they confirmed the possibility to use the protocols for testing on compliance with European harmonized standards in the technical documentation and to make the reference to a national standard identical to the relevant European standard in the declaration of conformity. We are grateful to the Ministry for detailed explanations and we look forward to further constructive cooperation.
