IKI seminar: the role of the private sector in Ukraine’s green recovery discussed

  On 5 March, the IKI seminar Ukraine’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) 2035: Investments for a Sustainable, Climate- and Biodiversity-Friendly Future took place in Kraków. The event aimed to align IKI projects, strengthen cooperation, and explore pathways to achieving Ukraine’s climate goals. The seminar gathered representatives from the Ukrainian and German governments, international partners, experts, and business representatives to discuss strategic climate policy issues. The Manager of the Industrial Ecology and Sustainable Development Committee of the European Business Association took part in the panel discussion The Private Sector in Ukraine’s Recovery. Participants examined the role of businesses in rebuilding the country on sustainable development principles and discussed investment attraction strategies. The discussion also highlighted the Association’s research findings and the potential of the Investment Map of Ukraine—a digital tool developed by the Association in collaboration with Global Business for Ukraine and Ukraine Invest. Additionally, the session addressed the implementation of Best Available Techniques (BAT) by businesses during wartime. The seminar was supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, the International Climate Initiative (IKI), and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
