EBA Odesa Extended Coordination Council meeting with the participation of Committees’ & Working Groups’ Heads

  On December 15, 2021, an online-meeting of the renewed EBA Odesa Regional Coordination Council (RCC) with the participation of Committees’ & Working Groups’ Heads was held. Thus, we summarized the activities of the EBA Southern Ukrainian Office in 2021, discussed the main achievements, planned activities for 2022. Head of the EBA Southern Ukrainian Office Kateryna Morozova told about the achievement of goals in the main activities: membership and customer service, advocacy, events and PR visibility). As of December 15, 2021, the total number of member companies - 86, including regional - 56, new - 11.  Furthermore this year we worked on a collective position that was important not only for the economy of the region but for the country as a whole, - on the construction of an alternative road to the Odesa seaport. Also, in 2021, companies most often faced the following problems: blocking tax invoices, delays in cargo clearance at Odesa customs, pressure on business from state and law enforcement agencies (State Tax Service of Ukraine, State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, MIA and SSU), overstatement of customs value of goods at the Odesa customs, etc. In addition, this year we launched many new projects: EBA Odesa Stay In Touch, Association Discussion: New Opportunities for Ukrainian Business: Agreement on Cooperation between Ukraine and the UK, IT Talks, EBA Expert Talks: Vaccination from COVID-19 - to be or not to be? ”, Freight Forwarders Updates“ Challenges in the practice of container transportation ”, EBA Discussion“ Infrastructure reforms 2021: Challenges and expectations ”, Expert Talks in Mykolayiv and Kherson, Visit of the Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to EBA member companies in Odesa, EBA Odesa Legal School with Advisers Law Company, EBA Odesa Eco-Agro Talks. In total, we managed to organize 44 events in various formats, which were attended by about 1,100 participants and more than 90 speakers. Also in 2021 19 media publications in were made. Among them were blogs, video comments, and coverage of the Offices events on such resources as LIGA.Blogs, The Odessa Journal, Suspilne Odesa TV, Suspilne Mikolaiv TV, APK-Inform, Nikvesti TV, Maritime Business News, Ukrainian Shipping Magazine, 7 channel Odesa. Discussing the plans for 2022, the main priorities were outlined in order to continue a constructive dialogue with public authorities and local governments, active work to protect the interests of companies and the introduction of new formats of events. Thanks to all for a great year together in the European Business Association and we are hope that 2022 will be even more bright!
