EBA Annual Activity Chart 2023

22/ 12/ 2023
Dear EBA members, dear colleagues, and friends, For nine years, including almost two years of full-scale invasion, we have been fighting back. At the same time, we are making every effort to make Ukraine a better place for living, working, and doing business. Our defenders have been firmly holding the front lines. Our businesses and people have been working hard to support the armed forces and ensure economic stability and growth. We are happy to have the opportunity to summarize the 2023 results and set new goals for the year 2024. We owe that to you, our members, as well. We are grateful for your dedication, support, and active involvement in the EBA day-to-day work to deal with the numerous issues affecting businesses in Ukraine. Despite the very difficult time, the EBA community keeps up the good work and high spirit. For example, 58% of companies predict positive dynamics of their business development in 2024 and 26% plan to implement new investment projects. The EBA continues to protect businesses in Ukraine through transparent advocacy, and create an environment conducive to growth through B2B events and networking, educational, and promo opportunities, fostering regional connections to bring more value to our members. Since the beginning of the year, we have received 224 collective and 169 individual advocacy requests. We have held numerous high-profile events to address key business issues to top decision-makers in Ukraine, including President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, Deputy Prime Ministers Oleksandr Kubrakov, Olha Stefanishyna, Mykhailo Fedorov, and Yuliia Svyrydenko, international partners, including Ambassador of the EU to Ukraine Katarina Mathernova, Vice-President of the European Parliament Nicola Beer, IMF Resident Representative to Ukraine Vahram Stepanyan, etc. Also, we have increased visibility in the national media speaking about members’ issues — 12 200 mentions in total. By nurturing our Global Business for Ukraine initiative, we have bolstered our presence on the global stage through intentional international advocacy efforts, contributions to leading international media, and active engagement in recognized global forums.
